I will have to explain something before you watch this video. Every band has, what is called, a contract rider. The part of the contract that tells the person hiring the band what is needed for backstage, on stage, and extras. Van Halen had something in their rider that stated they were to have no brown M&Ms, and if the band found one, the show was over before it began.

Van Halen would be paid, and they were free to walk without playing a single song.  Why did they add that to their contract. David Lee Roth Explains in this video about the legend.
