Dave Davies of the Kinks is planning a 'Rock 'N Roll Journey,' but he needs your help to get there.

The rock legend has turned to the crowdfunding site Indiegogo to help fund his next project -- a world tour and documentary that he hopes will take him around the globe to interact with fans and collect their shared experiences into a unique celebration of a distinguished career. As he put it in the video pitch for the campaign, which you can watch above, "I’m really looking forward to getting back on the road. It will be great to make a high-quality documentary capturing both live performance and behind the scenes action."

Earlier this year, Davies returned from a six-year recording hiatus with a new solo LP, 'I Will Be Me.' He's had to deal with a number of personal and professional setbacks over the past several decades, including a debilitating stroke and his infamously contentious relationship with his brother and fellow Kinks co-founder Ray, but he's never quit. That spirit should be on full display in 'Rock 'N Roll Journey,' if the campaign can reach its target goal.

Davies is trying to raise $30,000 by Nov. 3, 2013, and as of this writing, he still has $28,730 to go. Depending on your level of investment, you can come away with anything from a digital download of the movie to an "executive producer" credit, which comes with free concert tickets, the chance to sing onstage with Davies, and more.
