Cub Scouts are rounding up kids to register in time for the fall season.

Build an Adventure by joining scouting. George Rennan was in to talk about what the scouts do and why he enjoys working with kids and scouting. He says they do things that make them better people. He says he leads by example and likes to know he is making a difference. He believes in the program, he said he started when his kids were in scouting and stayed on because he wanted the program in his neighborhood to survive.

He says joining scouts is good for making friends, learning how to work together, playing with a purpose, building things, setting goals and achieving them. They go places, meet people, learn about jobs and their community. He says they grow mentally and spiritually and these experiences change their life for the better.

Scouting provides experiences that help prepare kids for their future. Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives.

Scouting fosters the spirit of discovery for future innovators and leaders by investing in new and relevant programs such as STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). These programs also provide youth with a platform to learn important life skills that help them combat major societal concerns.

According to the Voyagers Area Council Scouting Website
