Here's good news for your wallet (and potentially bad news for the beleaguered U.S. Postal Service):  the price of a First Class postage stamp will decrease in price from 49-cents to 47-cents on April 10.

No - the move isn't a late April Fool's Day joke;  post office officials lobbied to temporarily inflate the price of postage back in 2014 in order to quickly raise some funds.  That agreement, though was a two-year fix that expires in April.

Now that the agreed-upon term is coming due, U.S. Postal officials are lobbying to get another extension - saying that letting the rate drop to it's "normal" rate will hurt their budget even more than dropping usage rates.
