The first ever Superior Watercross Shootout is just a few days away, and excitement around the Twin Ports is quickly growing before the snowmobiles hit the water at Barker's Island. Leading up to the event, we decided to have a contest to have one of our local talented singers perform the National Anthem.

The first winner of our contest, and Saturday singer is an Esko native, Jodi Kiminski. She currently works full time with the 148th Fighter Wing as the Wing Executive Support Officer, and has been involved with the Air National Guard for 18 years. She started singing the National Anthem at high school sporting events, and has also performed at several community events and even a Minnesota Twins Game and at WeFest.

Sunday Singer - Autumn Rose Pendegayosh

Autumn is 15 years old and a sophomore this year at Nevis High School in Nevis, MN. She has been singing since she was 2 and has performed in Park Rapids Area Youth Art and Music festival for several years, Nevis High School Choir and Band and received an Excellent rating last year at Ensembles. Autumn performs the National Anthem for a majority of her school games and Events and also was chosen to sing the National Anthem for the Minnesota Governor's Fishing Opener this last May and will be competing in the talent competition next week at the Minnesota State Fair. In addition to singing and band, Autumn also plays volleyball, softball, figure skates and is a member/driver of the IWA Race Association. This is her first year racing Watercross and she is the youngest female racer in the IWA.
