It's no secret that we're in the summer road construction season.  And whether that project is on a highway with orange cones stretching for 20 miles or on a city street corner with single sign, the law mandates that you slow down;  common sense mandates that you be observant and extra-cautious.

Over the past week, road crews with the City of Duluth have been out in full force patching the potholes that Mother Nature left behind this winter and spring.  They have noticed a lack of drivers who reduce their speed when in the vicinity of this work.

When you encounter road work - always, slow down.  Remember - those employees are out there trying to make a better roadway for everyone.  And, they have families to go home to at the end of the day.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation offers guidelines for drivers when encountering work zones.  Click here to learn more.
