Cinderella's Jeff LaBar turns to personal matters on his first-ever solo video, premiering exclusively on Ultimate Classic Rock.

"I wrote 'No Strings' following my first marriage and subsequent divorce," LaBar says. "The relationship was awesome; the breakup, not so much." Still, the guitarist and vocalist calls the clip "a labor of love, as it was my first for a song that I wrote myself."

'No Strings' arrives in advance of LaBar's 'One of the Road' via Rat Pak Records on August 26. LaBar says he recorded the seven-song project largely as a solo effort along with engineer Ronnie Honeycutt. Tesla's Troy Luccketta sat in on the sessions for 'No Strings,' though LaBar is joined in the video by drummer Matthew Arnn, along with his son, guitarist Sebastian LaBar, and bassist Jasmine Cain.

Another release, with an additional seven songs, is planned soon, LaBar says. "All in all, this record is parts of my life since the hey day of Cinderella," LaBar adds, "and there is a lot more where that came from."

'No Strings' was mixed by Cinderella drummer Fred Coury, with additional album mixing courtesy of Chris Collier, who'd earlier worked with Lita Ford. The clip was directed by James Erdman.
