One of Duluth's busiest intersections is about to see traffic restrictions - starting Monday, June 18. According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, drivers will start encountering restrictions at Central Entrance and Mesaba Avenue; the restrictions are part of the larger project being performed on Mesaba Avenue this summer.

According to MNDOT, eastbound Central Entrance at Mesaba will be reduced to one lane. The right turn lane to Mesaba Avenue and the right lane of traffic will both be closed. Drivers will still be able to access the left lane - also open to through traffic - to turn right onto Mesaba Avenue.  However, drivers will not be able to turn left onto Rice Lake Road.  In addition, the right lane of southbound Mesaba Avenue will be closed from Central Entrance to 3rd Street.  Access to the west from Mesaba Avenue will only be permitted at West 7th Street and West 3rd Street.  All northbound lanes will remain open, but access to the west will be limited to West 7th Street and West 3rd Street.
