Montana Rep. Alan Hale Defends Drunk Driving [VIDEO]

Montana Republican Congressman Alan Hale is apparently courting a new (and hopefully small) group of voters: drunk drivers.

Yep, this week, Hale actually argued against a new House Bill that according to the Missoulian would allow courts in Montana to "look back to impaired driving offenses up to 10 years old when someone is being punished for a drunk-driving charge, a change from the current five-year cutoff."

Hale's argument? DUI laws are "destroying a way of life that has been in Montana for years and years" and that they are not doing small businesses any good.

‘Lord, Let Him Live,’ Reagan’s Secret Service Agent Prayed

I can remember this vividly. I was working in Boston at the time, and as I was leaving my office, I glanced at the T.V. Funny how pictures and memories stay in your mind isn't it?

On March 30, 1981, I was the Secret Service agent in charge of the Presidential Protective Division. President Reagan was giving a speech at the Washington Hilton hotel that afternoon, but I was not scheduled to accompany him.

We didn’t yet know each other well — it was early in his term — and since it’s never good for the head of a detail to be a stranger to the president, I realized that this would be a good opportunity for us to spend some time together. So I arranged to take the trip to the speech after all.

North Dakota Economy Booming

It's always good news when neighboring states enjoy prosperity, we could use a dose of that right here in Minnesota. Call me crazy, but if I were a Minnesota politician, I'd be in Fargo right now picking the city fathers brains for their formula for success. But, like I said, call me crazy.
North Dakota, the state with the nation's lowest unemployment rate, capped a decade of economic prosperity with dramatic population growth in its biggest cities.

Fargo added nearly 15,000 residents to hit a record population of 105,549, the Census Bureau reported Wednesday. Its fast-growing neighbor of West Fargo added an additional 11,000 residents to reach a population of 25,830.

Wisconsin Gov. Cuts Collective Bargaining.

How soon before more states look at this and decide it's the right way to go,  so can we make the senators and the governor live by the same rules!!!?

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker succeeded Friday in taking away nearly all collective bargaining rights from the vast majority of the state's public employees, quietly capping weeks of contentious debate and delivering an epic defeat to the labor movement with a private bill signing.

Could The Days Be Numbered For A Dollar Bill?

So do we get a dollar coin with George on it,  or another coin with Susan B. Anthony?

Washington has come down with a case of fiscal fever as the Obama administration proposes everything from spending freezes on domestic programs to selling off unused government property to bring the budget back in line. Now, one study argues that the

Minnesota Rep. Takes on the Army & Nascar.

It's pretty obvious to me the politician is simply trying to make a name for herself at the expense of the Army and Nascar. How embarrassing when we elect people to office that don't understand the basics of advertising or promotion of a product
