Superior’s 21st Street Viaduct To Close June 22

Maintenance repairs will close part of one of the viaducts in Superior on Thursday.  Officials with the City of Superior are warning drivers about a daytime closure of the west-bound lane of the 21st Street Viaduct on June 22 between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Highway 73 Roundabout Public Meeting Scheduled For June 28

Residents on the Iron Range will get an update about one of two roundabouts under construction right now.  The roundabout in Chisholm - where Highway 73 and County Road 5 intersect - will be the focus of a meeting to be held on Wednesday, June 28 at the Chisholm Senior Center.  The meeting will start promptly at 7:00 PM.

Belknap Street Project Update For June 19

Year One of the two-year Belknap Street reconstruction project in Superior is well underway with measurable progress being made each day.  The scope of the $23 million project for this summer is primarily the east and west ends of the roadway that is also the route that US Highway 2 uses as it runs through the heart of the city.  Next year the focus will shift to the middle part of the route.

Can You Believe It’s Been 5 Years Since The Flood Of 2012 [ PHOTO GALLERY]

It was 5 years ago that the rain started to fall and continued until there was between 7 and 9 inches in less than 24 hours.  I remember driving to work thinking nothing of it until I started to see pictures of huge sink holes, big enough to swallow a whole car.  It lead to days without power for some residents, the Lake Superior Zoo lost animals and Jay Cooke State Park will never be the same.

MNDOT Installs Electric Vehicle Charging Station Signs On I-94

Minnesota drivers will start to see signs alerting them to Electric Vehicle Charging Stations along I-94.  Work crews with the Minnesota Department of Transportation started installing the signs along the corridor that runs north of St. Cloud as part of the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act that was enacted in 2016.
