It's almost as if consumer food shopping traits were like a pendulum - swinging back and forth with no middle ground. After decades of advertising and marketing made grocery shoppers aware of the contents of the processed food they were consuming, there's been a growing trend toward organic and "raw" foods. Now, it appears like big money is about to be spent to drive that swing back the other way.
As the resident "Foodie" in the building, I was recently asked about those baby carrots you find in the grocery store. You know the ones that I'm talking about: small, roundish-looking carrot chunks that are sold in clear plastic bags - ready-made for instant snacking. My friend wanted to know if they were any better or worse for you than "non-baby carrots"; They also inquired about the viral rumor that the carrots contain massive amounts of chlorine.
I have a grilled cheese once a week or so. I like it for many reasons. It's simple to make, inexpensive, satisfies my need for something crunchy, warms me up, fast to prepare, and makes me feel relaxed all over. It's a great comfy food.
Just got back from serving soup at today's 20th Annual Empty Bowl. Kim Carr our Promotions and Event Director and I go each year, and we have a great time. We both enjoy talking to the people we serve, and everyone who attends has a good time picking out their bowl, and choosing their favorite soups.

Recent reports show that theft of Maple Syrup - direct from its source in the woods - is expected to increase again this year, continuing a trend. Officials in New England are tracking the crime that is difficult to solve.
Think you know your Ribeye Steak from a New York? Or a Pork Butt from a roast? Think again! In an effort to make meat choices more clear, the USDA is renaming more than 350 cuts of meat - just in time for the summer grilling season.
The new obsession among teen girls is also the new trend on many websites. It’s the thigh gap, described as a clear space, or gap, that can be seen between the thighs when a girl is standing with her knees together. The runway models have it, and teen girls want it.
