UW-Superior is hosting the inaugural "Jacket Racket" event today thru Saturday. Activities are centered around a homecoming kind of concept and are geared for the campus community and alumni to celebrate school spirit. Highlights of the three days of events include a Nearly Naked Mile fun run with clothing donations tomorrow, tailgate party before the first men’s hockey game, and a Union Bash for students. One lucky student could also win free tuition for participating in the events.

Trick-or-treating, is an activity for children on Halloween, saying "Trick or treat?" Trick-or-treating is one of the main traditions of Halloween. It has become socially expected that if one lives in a neighborhood with children, one should dole out candy for trick-or-treaters.
Halloween once started to as a Celtic holiday and a way to celebrate All Hallow's Eve. It became part of the Celtic celebration to give out candy, they would also dress up in costumes to confuse the dead. They believed that Oct 31 and Nov. 1 was an overlap in time that the dead to could visit earth.
The City of Duluth golf courses announced they will be closed this week. If you want to play golf you have to go outside right away. October 30th will be the last day at Enger Park, Lester Park is closed as of the 27th.
