Bob Matson was our guest this morning. He has spent many years working in television and radio as an executive and on-air personality and a station manager. He hosted The Bear Facts radio show, when he was the executive director of the North American Bear Center. His love and passion is boats. Currently, he writes about vintage boats for The Timberjay and Minnesota Moments. He is also the owner of Matson Motors Marine & Small Engine Repair, which specializes in vintage boat restorations.

Bob’s lecture on “Amazing Stories of Nautical Archeology!” is based on his book. “Every boat has a story to tell,” according to Bob. He has gathered many interesting stories, family histories and tales of remarkable vintage boat restorations. His talk includes beautiful photos of these fine watercrafts. The funny story he told us about the book this morning was that he was looking for a close to his book and thought he could get one from a man in North Dakota. He had been searching for a rare boat and found one in a barn.
