A scheduled crack sealing project on the Blatnik Bridge has been put on hold until next spring.  Crews with the Minnesota Department of Transportation were anticipating a week-long project that would have kicked-off on Monday, November 14 during the daytime hours.

It's not known why MNDOT decided to move the timeline on the project, but current information plots the work for a Spring 2017 start.  For the past ten years or so, MNDOT has spent most of the summer months doing inspections and maintenance work on both of the major bridges that cross the St. Louis River:  The Blatnik and the Bong Bridges.  A few weeks ago it was learned that transportation officials have begun to plan for the eventual replacement of the Blatnik Bridge.
