As we reported earlier, an update-project will close Billings Park in Superior until the middle of the summer.

According to the latest from Mary Morgan - the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry for the City of Superior, the main part of Billings Park will not open to the public on Mother's Day as it has in years past.  Morgan says that the city doesn't anticipate fully-opening the popular park until after July 17.  That's why they aren't accepting pavilion reservations for any date prior to that.

The scope of the work this summer will see a rebuilt main road, reconstruction of all the pathways in the park, new lighting, and trail and retaining wall repair near the shoreline.  While the park is a jewel in the city, these areas have needed some TLC for the last few years.

While the main part of Billings Park will remain closed until July, there are some areas that can still be utilized by the public until then.  Specifically, users can visit the Japanese Garden, Second Point, and  the boat launch.
