One of the Twin Ports favorite places to cool off in the summer will be seeing some improvements! Officials with the City of Superior recently unveiled their plans to restore the public beach area at Barkers Island.

From a geographic standpoint, the area in question encompasses 6.74 acres of recreational land and 1,400 feet of swimming shoreline.  The plans the city has developed with restore many of those areas, creating a better experience for the public in the process.

The work would be paid for through a variety of grant money and public tax dollars. Already they city has secured the grant money needed and plans are about 30% complete.
