Steve Tanko

Here's more than you ever cared to know about me. I'm a "lifer".  ...Born and raised on Minnesota's Iron Range...moving to the Twin Ports area 20 years ago. I've worked for these radio stations for18 years and love every minute of it.  Although you hear me on the radio during the mid-day, my main role is Production Manager for our stations - writing and producing commercials. In my spare time (what's that?)  I'm married with one child.  I'm active in my son's school and volunteer in the community and serve on a variety of boards and committees.  I love to cook and have collected records for my entire life.  Although I spin "the Northland's Favorite Hits" on the radio, my collection is mostly comprised of classic country.   I'm also interested in business and economics. Thanks for listening!!

As the Minnesota State Fair gets ready to unveil their new food offerings on June 28, I thought it might be a good time to review what made food news last year - as an "appetizer" of sorts.

Do you go to the Minnesota State Fair to see the animals, ride the rides, or - eat the food?  Chances are - if you're like most people - you're interested in what kind of gourmet (or not-so-gourmet) offerings they have from year to year.
