Rayman

I've been in Twin Ports radio close to twenty years. I started in November of 1995 on talk radio WEBC AM 560. I joined the Kool 101.7 staff in 1998 and became the Afternoon Drive personality in 2001. In 2005 I was honored to receive a LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD by the MINNESOTA ROCK AND COUNTRY HALL OF FAME, now the MID AMERICA MUSIC HALL OF FAME. I was born in Cleveland ohio and raised in Duluth. Although I've traveled to all but two of the fifty states, and lived in ten of them, I'm proud to call the Northland my home. Thank you for sharing part of your afternoon with me on Kool 101.7 over the years.

Night Ranger's drummer, Kelly Keagy, wrote this song about his sister Christy, who is 10 years younger than him and was growing up fast. Essentially the song is about her coming of age. The original title was "Sister Christy," but the rest of the band thought Keagy was singing Sister Christian, so

Four Days, The Historical Record of the Death of President Kennedy

I got home later than usual last night, and to my surprise, my brother-in-law Father Rick  (or as I call him, my brother in law the priest) sent us a box full of books from England. Rick has been a priest in England for many years, and often sends us goodie packages. He knows of my interest in history, and included in the box were many books on the Civil War, and one titled Four Days.

‘Shades Of Elvis’ — Through The Eyes Of Artists — Priscilla Presley’s New Book

It's pretty hard to find someone who is an Elvis fan. It's for those fans that I'm writing this blog post. Priscilla has a new book out titled Shades of Elvis-Through the Eyes of Artists. The book is exactly what the title says it is. A certain group of artists, picked by Priscilla, who had the opportunity to wear a pair of shades that Elvis actually wore.

Me’shell Ndegeocello’s New Album ‘Comet’ A Hit [REVIEW] [VIDEO]

If you happen to be a fan of John Mellencamp, you may remember Meshell Ndegeocello, the singer-bassist who first bent mainstream ears 20 years ago when she joined John Mellencamp for a hit cover of "Wild Night" by Van Morrison. I had occasion to see her, and was impressed not only by her vocals, but also the way she man handled that bass.

Barry Gibb, The Last Brother [VIDEO]

I recently read Josh Eells article on Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees in this month's issue of Rolling Stone. Although I admit to not being a huge fan of the Bee Gees, I do have my favorites such as their first hit, New York Mining Disaster, and Every Christian Lion Hearted Man Will Show You, among them, I found the article  on Barry Gibb most interesting.
