Warren Zevon
One of the most satiric songwriters of our era, Warren Zevon was the son of a professional gambler which forced the family to move a lot. An unhappy home life led him to pop music. After his parents divorced when he was 16, Warren hopped into the Corvette his father won in a card game, and headed to New York to become a folk singer.
I Am Ozzy [Review]
One need not be a fan of Black Sabbath, "The Prince Of Darkness", or even a "metalhead, to enjoy this book. Maybe all you know about Ozzy is his TV show The Osbournes . No worries, he'll win you over..Ozzy's a hard guy not to like..
Jackie & The President [Video]
They called him Mr. Excitement, some called him The Black Elvis. His name was Jackie Wilson. Jackie died on this day.
Richie, I Missed You Along The Way [Video]
I went to the doctor the other day. Doctor man say "what's wrong"? I say "hurts when I walk". Doctor says "Why"? I say " Cuz I kicked myself in the ass too hard".
Apple Anyone?
When I lived in Massachusetts I met man named Terry who was to become a friend for many years. Terry was a pilot for Eastern Airlines. He also owned an electronics store. After introducing myself, I told him I needed to replace my computer, and I needed advice. Thirty minutes later I walked out with a new Mac Plus that trashed my budget for the next couple years.
It’s Mommy’s Fault!
I'll admit those who tune in my radio show for the first time can be a little taken back when they hear me . Some enjoy the show, some don't, and some might think I'm a little "bent" if you know what I mean.
NASCARitis..Is That A Word?
I went to see Dr. Laughy a few years back and told her I get up in the middle of the night a keep turnin left. She checked my eyes, ears nose & throat (and a few other places) and gave me "The Look" ( ya know when they look all solemn like over the top of their glasses)?
Keith’s New Book “Life”
I've loved the Stones since day one. While others kids were "gaga" over the Beatles, I went the other way with the Stones. I loved the "coolness" of the Stones... a smile every now and then, maybe, but that's it..
Who’s On Guitar?
On this day (1/18/65) the Rolling Stones recorded "Play With Fire" at RCA Studios in Hollywood. One cool thing about the song is the acoustic guitar, beautiful yet almost haunting isn't it? What most people don't know is neither Keith nor Mick is playing guitar on the song, it's Phil Spector.
Jagger Picks Blues Fav’s
Mick started out as a blues singer.
I ran across this article on his Top 10 Blues songs, and why he chose them. Enjoy.
