Rayman

I've been in Twin Ports radio close to twenty years. I started in November of 1995 on talk radio WEBC AM 560. I joined the Kool 101.7 staff in 1998 and became the Afternoon Drive personality in 2001. In 2005 I was honored to receive a LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD by the MINNESOTA ROCK AND COUNTRY HALL OF FAME, now the MID AMERICA MUSIC HALL OF FAME. I was born in Cleveland ohio and raised in Duluth. Although I've traveled to all but two of the fifty states, and lived in ten of them, I'm proud to call the Northland my home. Thank you for sharing part of your afternoon with me on Kool 101.7 over the years.

Dale Jr. Wins the Daytona 500

It's been ten years in the making, and finally Dale Jr. won the Daytona 500. There has been a change in Earnhardt starting towards the end of the 2012 season, and progressing through last season. Junior seemed more confident, his attitude improved, and his racing got better. Much of the credit goes to Steve Letarte, his crew chief, for believing in Dale, when he couldn't believe in himself.

Chevy SS Pace Car Catches Fire in Daytona at Sprint Unlimited [VIDEO]

Being a huge Nascar racing fan, I felt I would be committing a mortal sin if I didn't watch the first race in Nascar, the Sprint Unlimited. Although, there are no points in the race, and it does not figure in the  thirty six official races of the season, it is an annual event. The race prepares the teams and drivers and chance to "knock the rust off" before the start of the season at Daytona.

Rayman’s Song of the Day-River of Dreams by Billy Joel [VIDEO]

River of Dreams is a very spiritual song where Joel, who identifies himself as an atheist, includes some biblical imagery, including the line, "Through the valley of fear," which is a reference to Psalm 23:4 - "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil." Joel also says that the river is a religious image, as "there's baptizing in a river and you have to cross the river - people are getting dunked in the river and there's rivers of blood."
