Rayman

I've been in Twin Ports radio close to twenty years. I started in November of 1995 on talk radio WEBC AM 560. I joined the Kool 101.7 staff in 1998 and became the Afternoon Drive personality in 2001. In 2005 I was honored to receive a LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD by the MINNESOTA ROCK AND COUNTRY HALL OF FAME, now the MID AMERICA MUSIC HALL OF FAME. I was born in Cleveland ohio and raised in Duluth. Although I've traveled to all but two of the fifty states, and lived in ten of them, I'm proud to call the Northland my home. Thank you for sharing part of your afternoon with me on Kool 101.7 over the years.

I Love Kmart’s Joe Boxer TV Commercial But it Upsets Some Customers [VIDEO]

I don't wear boxers, I prefer briefs, but I love Kmart's newest TV spot for Joe Boxer's. I realize I might be in the minority, but isn't it time for a little humor in advertising? I think it's unusual, and that's what makes it stick in your mind.

Rayman’s Song of the Day-Down Under by Men at Work [VIDEO]

The "Land Down Under" is Australia, where the group is from. The lyrics were written by lead singer Colin Hay, who said: "The chorus is really about the selling of Australia in many ways, the over-development of the country. It was a song about the loss of spirit in that country. It's really about the plundering of the country by greedy people."

‘It’s Only Rock n Roll: 30 Years Married to a Rolling Stone’ by Jo Wood [REVIEW]

I just completed reading the book, and want to share my thoughts with you. Being a Rolling Stone fan since they first hit the scene in the early sixties, and Ronnie being my favorite Stone, I had to get the book. I was a bit put off by the reviews of those that read the book, saying they now dislike Ron, are appalled at his actions etc.etc. What reviewers don't realize is the more outlandish the review, the more the book will sell. It's sort of like a song being banned on the radio..everyone goes out and buys the song.

Rayman’s Song of the Day-Eye of the Tiger by Survivor [VIDEO]

The iconic title of this song was not a sure thing. "At first, the boys wondered if calling it 'Eye Of The Tiger' was too obvious. The initial draft of the song, we started with 'It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight, rising up to the spirit of our rival, and the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night, and it all comes down to survival.'
