The City of Superior has been proactive in battling the Emerald Ash Borer that has affected Ash trees across the region.  During the past year, the city has been systematically removing Ash trees - whether they have been infected or not - from city-owned property and rights of way.  That process is set to occur near the Blatnik Bridge on Friday, March 6.

The work itself will mainly occur near the WISDOT right of way and around the cloverleaf area.  Twenty-two trees in that area are showing signs or symptoms of Emerald Ash Borer infestation and are destined to fail in the future.

Officials from the City of Superior have plans to replant and replace the trees with other varieties in the spring.
