On the heels of Target announcing a closure of their Superior location in the early part of 2016, another major retailer is following suit. Kmart, which is owned by Sears, announced today that Superior's Kmart location would be closing this spring.

The company said that a liquidation sale will begin on January 24, leading up to a planned Mid-April close of the store. Leading up to the closure, the store plans to hold regular business hours.

Customers with layway contracts can pay off the contract early or transfer the layaway to the other area location in West Duluth.
