American Idol Winner Seriously Ill

Phillip Phillips our “American Idol” winner is ill. Phillips has a congenital kidney condition that has plagued him throughout his life, requiring eight surgeries to date. Even while he was contending for the American Idol crown, he had a stint inserted.
His doctor ordered him to have surgery immediately, however Phillips insisted on staying in the competition. While on a visit to his hometown in Georgia, his physician stayed by his side the total time.
Phillips was scheduled to have surgery yesterday, however it was delayed because of a sinus infection among other things. Surgery has been rescheduled for sometime next week.
