Aerial Lift Bridge Narrows To One Lane October 17th

The City of Duluth released a PSA saying there will be some site assessment work that will take place on the Aerial Lift Bridge on October 17, 2017.  This is some prep work that will get the bridge ready for some deck replacement. The anticipated deck replacement project will start in January 2018.

According to a press release, to accommodate this work, the Lift Bridge will be reduced to single lane two-way traffic from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm on October 17. Motorists should be mindful of the traffic signal, drive slowly and watch for the possible presence of flaggers. Motorists should also plan additional travel time as there will be delays. The Aerial Lift Bridge may also lift for marine traffic if requested.

The work should be done by the late rush and won't start till after the early rush, but is warning the public that traffic will slow.
