With a 1/2-percent tax increase looming for residents, the City of Duluth has scheduled additional State of our Streets Public Informational Meetings to educate the general public how the increased taxes will be used.  A referendum will appear on the November 7 ballot that would then need legislative approval prior to implementation.

Analysts suggest that the 1/2-percent increase could generate an additional $7 million annually - an amount that would be directed towards the street improvement fund.

The meetings have been scheduled for the following dates, times, and locations:

  • Wednesday, September 20 - 5:30 PM - at the Morgan Park Community Center:  1242 88th Avenue West
  • Monday, October 16 - 6:30 PM - at the Lakeside-Lester Park Community Center:  106 N 54th Avenue East
  • Thursday, October 26 - 5:30 PM - at the Duluth Heights Community Center:  33 Mulberry Street
