AC/DC Wine to Become Available in the U.S.

Last year, AC/DC launched their own brand of wine in their native Australia. The response was so good that, in February, they were able to begin exporting it to the U.K. Now, they look to conquer an even bigger market, with the product soon to hit select stores in America.
Their wine comes in four varietals, each named after an AC/DC classic, ‘Back in Black’ Shiraz, ‘Highway to Hell’ Cabernet Sauvignon, ‘Thunderstruck’ Chardonnay and ‘Hells Bells’ Sauvignon Blanc. They will soon launch a fifth, called You Shook Me All Night Long Moscato. ‘The suggested retail price of the wine is $17.99 a bottle and can be ordered online at Vinport.
To date, more than 50,000 cases have been sold, which suggests that the wine, produced by Warburn Estate, is more than simply a novelty item. “Traditionally all Winestate judging’s are run exactly the same as any typical wine review program,” Peter Jackson of Winestate Wine Marketing and Promotions said. “With over 10,000 wines judged every year, more than 60% of wines submitted are not recommended. The new AC/DC wine label is not only very clever marketing, it’s actually quite a very good wine!”
And if you’re wondering why Gene Simmons hasn’t thought of this, you’re too late. Kiss launched their own label of wine and beer in Europe last fall.
