The paint and refurbishment project that's been happening on the Bong Bridge entrance ramp on the southbound lanes of I-35 will necessitate the closure of the 46th Avenue West ramp for a few days.  According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the 46th Avenue West ramp will close to traffic from Thursday, August 2 through Saturday, August 4.

While the ramp is closed, work crews will be painting the overhead ramp on the structure.

In order to accommodate traffic during the closure, southbound drivers who need to access the Bong Bridge will drive past the ramp, exiting at Central Avenue, re-enter I-35 heading north, and then proceed to take the eastbound Highway 2 ramp onto the Bong Bridge.

The work is part of the larger Highway 2 / Highway 194 / Mesaba Avenue project that is happening this summer.  For complete details about all of the work involved, click here to visit the project page on the Minnesota Department of Transportation's website.
