Twin Ports drivers will want to know about a routine bridge inspection that will close a heavily-traveled on-ramp along the I-35 corridor.  Work crews with the Minnesota Department of Transportation will be inspecting the 21st Avenue West on-ramp - the one that heads to northbound I-35 - on Thursday, August 9.  The closure is expected to begin at 9:00 AM and end by 3:00 PM.

Officials are saying that the inspection is routine and not due to any specific reason.  According to MNDOT's release, "the actual inspection will help to ensure that the infrastructure is reliable and safe for freight movement and as transportation routes".

Authorities have no reason to believe that the inspection will run longer than the planned timeline, however weather and other elements could affect the timeline.  Drivers who usually use the 21st Avenue West on-ramp are asked to seek alternative routes, follow signs, be patient, and use caution around the work area.
